4th of July—Part 1

Our 4th of July weekend started on Friday the 1st of July. My sister and brother-in-law held a party so we headed over there for food and fireworks.

My brother-in-law made his pulled pork which was delicious. I made some yummy red, white and blue strawberries that everyone loved!

We hung out with family and friends. I just love this photo of Colson with his GiGi (my dad's mom).
Hannah and grandma played with hats aka food strainers. :oP It was pretty hilarious!
We had tons of fireworks and it took forever to open them all. But it was worth it because they were beautiful.

We didn't take Hannah to fireworks last year so I was worried about how she would react to them this year, but she loved them! I told her that when the fireworks went off we should say 'ooooo' and 'ahhhhh'. Well, she did just that! It was super cute.

And because I thought it was cute...I got a photo of my feet, my sister's feet and my mom's feet because we wore our festive 4th of July red, white, and blue flip flops! :oP

I'll post more about the rest of our weekend at a later time!

  1. How did you make those strawberries? They are super cute and probably way more healthy than my brownie/pudding fruit flag dessert I normally make!

  2. I just melted some baking white chocolate and dipped the strawberries. I then immediately dipped and turned the tips into blue sugar crystals that you would use for cutout cookies. I placed them on a cookie sheet to harden. Super easy and everyone loved them!
