1st baby purchases!

I have officially bought something for our baby girl and I am so excited!  Now lets just hope the ultrasound tech was right when she told us it was a girl.  :oP

I went to the outlet mall with my mom and hit up Carter's!  They had some fabulous sales and I got some really cute stuff. I tried not to go crazy so I mostly just got onsies. (The yellow dress in the photo I got a a retail shop in town... for $5.00!)

Yes, those are dachshunds!  I just had to get it!

And then this is her coming home outfit.  My mom bought a blanket for her as well that says 'Welcome to the world".  Its so soft and cute! :o)

I got a 20% off coupon as well for the end of July so I'm sure I'll head out there again.  Maybe they'll have even better sales on some summer things that I can get her for next summer. They had some cute dresses that I wanted to get and a cute little cardigan, but I decided to leave that for another shopping day.  I'm sure I'll buy those when I go back.  :o)

Baby Bedding Update

So I think I might have changed my mind on the baby bedding that I want.  I love the bedding I posted about a while ago that is from Target, but after a while it seems to get a little boring.

I was browsing the Babies R Us website and came across this bedding... which is in the same colors but a lot more exciting without being too gender specific.

Its more money at $199.99 (so almost $100 more) and doesn't come with all the extras that the Target bedding comes with (like matching pillows, blankets, nightlight, etc) but I still think I like it more.  And since it is the same colors as the one from Target I could always still get the extra sheets from that set and anything else that matched.

What do you think?  Which bedding set is the better choice?

Halfway There!

I am 20 weeks this week... which means I am halfway through my pregnancy.  AH!  Where has the time gone?  Next week is July already. Craziness!  I posted a photo of me at 20 weeks.. UGH. I don't like it but it will do, I guess.  I think I just look fat...

But July 3rd I have another doctors appointment.  I'm sure it will be pretty uneventful... just weigh and measure me... oh and then listen to the heartbeat which is always wonderful to hear!  :o)  Maybe we'll get to schedule our next ultrasound but I'm thinking we have to wait until after the next appointment at the end of July.  My doctor said around 28 weeks and at the end of July I'll be 26 weeks, so I'm guessing it will be after that appointment.  But I can hope she'll let us schedule it early... I'm dying to get a better image of her... and to find out for sure if she is in fact a she!  :oP

I have finally started to feel Baby Loving moving around.  Nothing strong and nothing too consistent, but they're definitely her.  :oP  I'll be sitting at work and I'll get a little nudge right under my belly button, or I'll be laying on the couch and I'll feel her kicking.  It is pretty cool!  I can't wait for her to start kicking with some power so Nick can feel it!  :o)

19 weeks!

How your baby's growing:
Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, taking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom —
about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

what your baby looks like this week.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.

How your life's changing:

Think you're big now? You'll start growing even more rapidly in the weeks to come. As a result, you may notice some achiness in your lower abdomen or even an occasional brief, stabbing pain on one or both sides — especially when you shift position or at the end of an active day. Most likely, this is round ligament pain. The ligaments that support your uterus are stretching to accommodate its increasing weight. This is nothing to be alarmed about, but call your practitioner if the pain continues even when you're resting or becomes severe.

You may be noticing some skin changes, too. Are the palms of your hands red? Nothing to worry about — it's from increased estrogen. You may also have patches of darkened skin due to a temporary increase in pigment. When these darker patches appear on your upper lip, cheeks, and forehead, they're called
chloasma, or the "mask of pregnancy." You may also notice some darkening of your nipples, freckles, scars, underarms, inner thighs, and vulva. That darkened line running from your belly button to your pubic bone is called the linea nigra, or "dark line." These darkened spots will most likely fade shortly after delivery. In the meantime, protect yourself from the sun, which intensifies the pigment changes. Cover up, wear a brimmed hat, and use sunscreen when you're outdoors. And if you're self-conscious about your "mask," a little concealing makeup can work wonders.

Maternity Dresses

I'm not a huge fan of dresses, but I do plan on wearing one for my baby shower.  I found a few that are simple enough to wear for everyday but I think would work for a baby shower as well if you added some chunky jewelry.

The first one is from Motherhood Maternity and is a great price!
$29.98

This dress is a bit more expensive and is from Mimi Maternity.
$148.00

And my favorite from Mimi Maternity which I think I will actually get a little later down the road. I love all the jewelry I found at Palm Beach Jewelry, although the jewelry I picked for this dress is a bit pricey so I will probably have to find a cheaper option somewhere else. :o( But I love it!
$78.00

Etsy Finds

Since we found out we are having a little girl, I couldn't help but browse through Etsy and look at all of the little baby booties.

I found some really cute ones so I might have to splurge and get our baby girl a few pairs.  :o)

These are from MiaJoie.

These are from Baby Things by Jessica.

The next two are from Frosting Couture.

And these are from Aurelia and Annalise.
