Hannah's First Swim!

Sunday we took Hannah over to her grandparents house for her first swim in the pool.  I was a little nervous because I wasn't sure if she was going to like it or not, but just like everything else Hannah has tried, she loved it!  But she loves her baths so why wouldn't she love the pool??? She didn't cry once and she was even kicking her legs.  An olympic swimmer perhaps!?

The mother-in-law and sis-in-law were awesome enough to take some photos! :o)

Daddy took Hannah in the water first.

Then mommy braved a bikini *gasp* and got in the water.
(notice the beautiful tan lines from the Taste of Chicago that morning...I might have gotten a little bit too much sun, but luckily I don't burn!)

The three of us.

Hannah being perfectly content in the water.

And of course, the grandma and aunties had to take their turn!  :o)

Auntie Alayna!

Auntie Mandi!

Auntie Kate... after the swim!

All three Aunties!  :o)

And so you can see that Hannah was actually kicking in the water... here is a video!

Mom, there's nothing on!

Hannah is fascinated with our remote.  I was taking pictures of her playing with it and I happened to get these poses. They are too hilarious!

Mom, there's nothing on TV!

Is this crawling???

I think it might be some form of crawling...

8 Months

Our little butterfly is getting so big!

Today Hannah is 8 months old.  I can't believe it.  I just want to cry.

Where have the past 7 months gone?  How is Hannah already 8 months old?  People always say that the time flies and before you know it your little baby isn't a little baby anymore.  I have seen that first hand for the past 7 months. She has just been growing right before our eyes. And I knew that time was going by too quickly (I think I posted about her getting so big in every monthly update) but for some reason 8 months old just sounds old. It truly does make us sad that our little baby is quickly becoming a little girl but at the same time we are very excited.

Our little girl is 8 months old. She is sitting up on her own.  She is crawling (well its more like slithering) all around the living room.  She is talking up a storm.  She gets mad when she wants a toy and can't get to it.  She smiles and gets excited every time we walk into the room.

With 8 months comes a whole new world for Hannah (and for her mommy and daddy). She is definitely becoming a little person, with a personality all her own. No longer are the days where we can leave the room and know that when we come back she is still laying on her blanket.  No longer are the days where our house is ours... it is now Hannah's.  There will be nothing under the coffee table or on the fireplace for her to pull down onto herself. There will be no more leaving the room without putting her in her pack and play to she doesn't bump her head on something. With 8 months comes a whole world of changes but they are changes that I welcome even though maybe a part of me (us) is sad that we are already to this point. *sigh*

Happy 8 months Hannah!  Mommy and daddy love you!  You are getting so big!

Just thought I would post a few random photos because photo posts the best kind of posts!

Father's Day Pics

Nick really liked his Father's Day gift!  :o)

How cute do the two of them look!?

And a family pic.  :o)

Happy Father's Day

I would just like to wish my wonderful husband a Happy First Father's Day!

He is such a fabulous daddy. Every time he plays with Hannah my heart just lights up. I just keep falling more and more in love with him! I am so lucky to have such a great man in my life who not only loves me but loves our little girl.

Enjoy your day, daddy!  :o)  Mommy and Hannah love you!

New Car Seat

Since Hannah can sit on her own know we have been forgoing using the car seat attached to the stroller and have just been using the stroller seat.  Since we are no longer using the car seat for that purpose I figured it was time to get a different car seat. One that will last a bit longer.

After looking around on multiple websites, I think I have found the one I want to get.  It is the Graco My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seat.  It is the only car seat out right now (or at least that I could find) that allows your child to stay rear facing up to 40lbs. And once they exceed 40lbs. the seat changes to a front facing for up to 65 lbs.  Plus it is pretty reasonably priced at $150!

I can get this color at Babies R Us:

Or I can get this color at Wal-Mart:

I like the Wal-Mart one the best.  It's got the teal blue/grey color which makes it a little more girly than the other one. :o)

I know Wal-Mart does not carry it in stores so I would just have to order it without seeing it.  I'm not sure if the Babies R us here carries it in the store.  :o/ I would really like to see it in person before I buy it... hummmm...

It has gotten good reviews but does anyone have this car seat and care to share their thoughts on it?

no title needed!

She is just that cute!  :o)
