16 Weeks

How far along? 16 weeks

Weight gain/loss: +4 pounds total that I know of but I'm sure I've gained since my last appointment 3 weeks ago.

Maternity clothes? Just pants and when I say pants, I mean capris because it has been to freakin' hot for pants. I am over this 90 degree crap! Fall can get here anytime so I can go out and buy JEANS!

Stretch marks? Nope. I avoided them with Hannah so hopefully I avoid them again.

Sleep? Sleep? What's that? My nose and bladder are not allowing me to get any sleep. I can't breathe and I have to get up to pee every 2 hours. Fun stuff!

Best moment this week? It was the last week of August...which means Fall is quickly approaching!

Food cravings: Sushi! I need sushi! Good thing we're going out for sushi on Wednesday. :o)

Gender: My guess is boy. Hoping to schedule our ultrasound at our appointment next Tuesday.

Belly button in or out? In

Movement? I don't think so. I might have had one or two little thumps yesterday evening but nothing too crazy.

What I miss? That 70 degree weather we had the other week! Good thing it comes back this weekend! :o) Oh, and being able to breathe through my nose!

What I'm looking forward to: Feeling the baby move and scheduling our ultrasound at our appointment next week.

Milestones: Baby is measuring 4 1/2 inches long, weighs 3 1/5 ounces and can now hear my voice!

I still feel like I look more fat than anything. Blah. And please ignore the yucky hair/tired look.

I can't believe I am already 16 weeks though. It is even weirder to think that at 16 weeks with Hannah we found out that she was a girl. We had our ultrasound pretty early with her though. With this one we're waiting until 20 weeks so the gender results will be more accurate.

I have also decided to only to these updates every other week. I feel like I just keep writing the same stuff over and over. So I will post these on the even weeks, along with a belly pic. If something happens that is newsworthy in between these posts, then I will just make it it's own entry.

A Little Fun

I snapped a few shots yesterday of the fun we had while daddy was outside finishing the fence.

Hannah loves to color! If she sees a crayon, that's it, we're spending the next hour doodling on paper.

She was also loving this hat she wore on her walk with grandma. She wouldn't take it off. :oP

She is just so stinkin' cute, I can't even stand it!

Your Three Words

(Sorry about the crappy cell phone picture!)

We have finally gotten our fence up...well most of it anyways. We still have a few panels to go but most of the work is done. I am so glad that we can cross this project off of our list and we can move onto a more important one: finishing the basement/getting the nursery in order!

Weight gain/loss: +4 pounds total.

Maternity clothes? Just pants for the most part, although I'll wear tops occasionally.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep? I am annoying myself with how much I am getting up to pee! URGH!

Best moment this week? We got most of our fence panels up! I also made a baby cocoon for the baby--my first item made/bought for baby #2! :o) (blog post about the cocoon coming later!)

Food cravings: Nothing really.

Gender: My guess is boy. Hoping to schedule our ultrasound at our next appointment for September 29th--our anniversary! :o)

Hoping

I'm really hoping that these are actually the temperatures for this week, and that they don't change. I am loving the 70 degree weather they are calling for!

Your Three Words

I decided to participate in Jenni's Your Three Words this week. If you don't know what Y3W is, it is the idea of summing up your week or maybe describing the upcoming weekend with three little words.

If I can remember, I will try to do this every Friday! :o)

So, here is this weeks:

Pillow Pets

Ever since I saw the infomercial for Pillow Pets, I knew I wanted to get one for Hannah. Well a few weeks ago, I found out that Walgreens was going to start selling them in their stores. I thought: PERFECT! Now I won't have to order it online. Plus I would be able to see one in person before I bought it. And with Hannah's 2nd birthday a little over 2 months away I figured I would get it as a birthday present.

Well, it turns out that I would be buying it a little sooner than I had expected!

We went into Walgreens the other day only to come face to face with this:

Buzzy Bumble Bee was right at the front of the store and it caught Hannah's eye! She started saying 'bumble bee, bumble bee' so I handed it to her. She instantly gave it a big hug and laid her head on it. After I let out a huge sigh, I knew that we would be walking out of the store with it in our hands.

So, I caved and bought Hannah a birthday present 2 months early. I'll just wrap it the day of her party and she can re-get the pillow. She'll never know the difference!  Right!? :o/

But she is so cute with it. She will talk to it and ask it questions...she will even answer for the bumble bee! It is so cute. I will definitely have to try to get some video and pictures of Hannah with her new friend! :o)

'Big Sis'

Let's backtrack to Father's Day, shall we!?

I don't think I ever shared how we told our families that we were expecting a new addition (I'm a slacker) so I wanted to post about it today. :o)

Here's how we shared the news:

We had everyone over for dinner at our house on Father's Day. When it came time for the dads to open their gifts, we told them that Hannah had to go get them from her room. The week before I had made a shirt for Hannah that said 'Big Sis'. So once we got into her room we quickly put the shirt on and she came back out into the living room wearing it. It was so great to see everyones reaction! :oP It was perfect!  A part of me wishes that we would have gotten it on film but between keeping the secret and getting the shirt on Hannah without anyone noticing, we decided to forgo the videotaping.

I did manage to get a few photos of Hannah wearing the shirt that day, but at the time that I took these photos, she was too interested in the sunglasses. Ah well. I'll be sure to get some good photos of her wearing it at the hospital when she meets her new baby brother or sister! :o)

So that is how we shared the news. I know you were all dying to know!

Once we find out whether this baby is a boy or a girl, I will get started on the 'Lil Sis' or 'Lil Bro' shirt. :o)

Weight gain/loss: +2 pounds since my last appointment 5 weeks ago. +4 pounds total.

Maternity clothes? Just pants.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep? Better!

Best moment this week? Visiting with my sister and BIL who came into town for a few days.

Food cravings: Nothing really.

Gender: My guess is boy. Ultrasound will be around 20 weeks. :o)

Belly button in or out? In

What I miss? Sushi. I think I might have to convince Nick to go get sushi for dinner one night.

What I'm looking forward to: Feeling the baby move.

Milestones: Heard baby's heartbeat on the doppler at our appointment yesterday. What a beautiful sound! :o) According to some, I am now into my 2nd trimester; others say this is my last week of the 1st trimester. Baby is measuring a whopping 3 inches long and has its own unique set of fingerprints.

Pajamas

I have decided that I will no longer acknowledge summer! I am going to start cooking cold weather food (soups, etc.), I am going to light my spice candle every day, and I am going to start wearing pants and sweaters.  Okay, okay, maybe the pants and sweaters thing is a little over the top...but I am definitely ready for some cooler weather.

This has gotten me thinking about clothes. :o)

I am excited for the fact that I will be pregnant during the winter this time. I think it is only fair to myself to get some new pajamas (on top of all of the new maternity clothes I am going to need to buy)...you know, to fit the ever growing belly. Maybe some nice fleece pjs would be good. Or some silky pajamas... because every pregnant momma deserves to feel sexy even in pajamas!  :oP

Here are a few things I have come across in my random internet searches for crap. :o)

I like this flannel set. And I think it would only be appropriate if I wore it exactly how the girl below is wearing them. There's nothing better than a pregnant belly and boobies hanging out of your flannel top.

I really love these lounge pants. They look so comfy!

Then there are these sexy silky pants. I'll put silk sheets on our bed and I'll be able to slide across it like a slip-n-slide! :oP

Okay, more realistically I'll probably just get a few things from Target. But sometimes it's nice to dream about some extra special (maybe extra pricey) pajamas. :o) Either way, I know I want to be comfy and warm this winter season so I definitely think some new pjs are in order!
