Baby's First Photos

We went for our first ultrasound yesterday and it was amazing! The U/S Tech took all the measurements that our doctor needed and her heartbeat was 143 bpm. It was great to see her little beating heart on the screen... it really set my mind at ease. We saw her two hands and her two feet, and we even got a photo of her scary skeletor face. :o)

Waving!

And the obligatory skeletor face photo.

When we go to our doctors appointment next Thursday, our doctor will go over everything else with us... like what the baby weighs and what its measuring. But to us she is already perfect... and kicking and squirming around like crazy!

And yes, if you have noticed I am referring to our baby and a HER and SHE... which means we are having a girl... well as far as the U/S Tech can tell. We could not get a good profile shot or a good 'money shot' (and that was on top of the ultrasound being at 16 weeks not the preferred 20 weeks to determine gender) so she could not tell us 100% that it was a girl but she said she sees no signs of there being little boys parts. So for right now its a girl and then when we go for our next ultrasound we will find out for sure and then we can start buying pink. :oP We weren't going to find out the sex but we changed our minds. We're super excited and we're already calling her by name (of which I am not going to share right at this moment).

It was an all around great day and a wonderful birthday present!

Baby Bedding

I have officially picked out our baby bedding.  I love it!  Since we are not finding out the sex of the baby this will work for both.  I'm not sure whether or not the walls will be red or lime green but either way it will look awesome!  :o) Now if only we could start our new house, because then I will be that much closer to starting the nursery.  :o)

The collection is from Target and is a great price.  You can't beat it!  $79.99 for a three piece set.  Plus it comes with quite a few extra add-ons for the nursery which is nice.

Below are a few photos.

15 weeks!

How your baby's growing:

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

Design Your Own Diaper Bag!

When looking for bridesmaids gifts I came across a few websites were you could design your own bag: you just pick the style and the fabric. At 1154 Lill Studio you can create anything from cosmetic bags to diaper bags, you have over a dozen choices.  And as if picking the bag style wasn't hard enough... then you're faced with tons of fabric choices. You pretty much have endless options when it comes to designing your own bag.

Its a great website and I'm hoping to be able to get the Diana Diaper Bag.

We have a heartbeat!

Our doctor said typically you can't hear a heartbeat on the doppler until around 16 weeks... but she gave it a try with me only being 14 weeks.  But... after only a little trouble, she found it!  It was the best sound ever.  To think a baby, that my husband and I created, is alive inside of me.  It was very cool to say the least!

But, my doctor said everything looks perfect and if she had to guess the gender right now... she thinks its a girl. But obviously its just a guess and we won't know the gender for sure until the ultrasound.  I have another doctors appointment in four weeks so she said to schedule the ultrasound for right before then, so the baby is bigger and we'll get a better image of him/her.  My husband is still not fully sold on finding out the gender, but I think between me and his mom, we'll be able to change his mind.  :o)

So know I have to wait three weeks... ugh.  I'm really excited for the ultrasound and to get a photo of baby Loving.  And hopefully we'll find out the gender as well!  YAY!

Cute Find!

Awhile back, while looking at one of many design blogs that I look at, I found the cutest thing!  Its not really baby related but it could still be used in a nursery.  It's a dachshund lamp.  AH! Too cute!

We have two dachshunds so this lamp would be perfect!
I can't recall the blog I found this on, but you can purchase the lamp HERE.

Its a bit expensive but I just might have to get one... as a splurge... :oP  I think baby loving would like it!  :o)
