Christmas Recap

I'm a little late, but here is a recap of our christmases...

Christmas on my dad's side:
opening presents

Hannah got a doll house from her great grandparents

This is one of the best family pics we have had taken. I love it! All smiles! :o)

us with my parents

she was wiped out by the end of the night...

Christmas morning at our house:

Hannah absolutely LOVES this pop up house. She calls it her castle. :o)

Christmas at Nick's parents:

enjoying a gingerbread cookie with grandma

 Christmas night at my parents:

Hannah got a table and chairs set

I think Hannah had a really great Christmas. We tried to make sure that she had an extra special one as this was the last one by herself. Next year she will share the joys with her little brother.

I absolutely loved seeing her face as she opened up presents. It really makes Christmas that magical time again...seeing it through your child's eyes. :o)

I just can't believe it over already. The Christmas season always seems to go by way too quickly. Now here we are 2 days away from it being 2011. It's just crazy! Although I am super excited for 2011... I can't wait for all of the new adventures we will embark on as a family of 4. :o)

33 Weeks!

How far along? 33 weeks!

Due Date: Doctor said if all stays like it is, he will induce somewhere between February 2nd and 8th...so less than 40 days to go! But I just have this feeling in the back of my head that things will need to be bumped up even earlier than that... stupid blood pressure!

Total weight gain/loss: +30 lbs <--yeah, that sucks. I'm 3 lbs shy of my weight gain with Hannah and I really wanted to stay under that weight gain. Ugh...the Holidays are killing me. I have no self control when it comes to cookies and candy.

Maternity clothes? Yep!

Stretch Marks? Nope!

Sleep: Uncomfortable!

Best moment this week: Celebrating our last Christmas as a family of three!

Movement: All the time!

Food cravings: Pretty much anything.

Food aversions: None.

Gender: Boy!

Labor Signs: At my ultrasound last week my cervix was measuring 3cm...so no signs of dilation yet.

Belly Button in or out? Still in.

What I miss: Lots of things...but once Colson is here I will miss being pregnant. It's weird how that works.

What I am looking forward to: Our little man getting here! I know he needs to cook longer but I'm ready for him to come...even if our house isn't ready.

Milestones: Less than 40 days to go!. Colson weighs 4 pounds and is about 17 inches long.

I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow and an NST after it. Nick is off from work so he will be able to go and keep me company this time! Hopefully it's not as eventful as last week...  :o/

Doctor's Appointment=Long Day!

Ugh! Today has been a long day!

I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon. They took my blood pressure: 134/100. Yikes! Not good. They had me lay down on my left side for 5 minutes and then they took my blood pressure again: 144/89. Blah!

So, now not only do I have chronic hypertension circled on my chart, but I think I have the beginnings of the pregnancy induced hypertension. I am ordered to rest 3 times a day for an hour each time.

I was supposed to schedule an ultrasound for next week but the tech is going to be on vacation, so they squeezed me in today. Bonus! I got to see Colson squirming around on screen which is always a wonderful sight. I just wish Nick would have been there to see him as well. :o(

Here is Colson's profile. Sorry its kind of crappy. I took it with my cell phone.

After my ultrasound I headed to the hospital for my NST and with orders from my doctor for some lab work. I got to listen to Colson for 45 minutes but then I had to get stuck in the arm with a needle for some blood work. My blood pressure was fine during the NST, holding at around 125/80. So I guess that is good. Now I'm just hoping I don't get a call from my doctor about my blood work. They said no news is good news so we're hoping for no phone call.

And last but certainly not least,  I got to come home with a giant pee bucket for a 24-hour urine catch. Fun times! There is nothing like having a giant jug of pee in your fridge. Yuck!

So needless-to-say, it has been a long afternoon. Colson looks good though and that is all I care about. I have my next three NSTs scheduled and that takes us to January 15th. Holy crap! I don't know if I'm ready for this yet. If Colson is still in my belly on January 15th though, I will be happy. He needs to cook a little longer! Maybe I should get my hospital bag packed though...just in case...

32 Weeks!

How far along? 32 weeks!

Due Date: Doctor said if all stays like it is, he will induce somewhere between February 2nd and 8th...so less than 50 days to go! If my blood pressure goes up any more, Colson might have to come in January. Eek! We're reaching the point in my pregnancy where I got pregnancy induced hypertension with Hannah so hopefully this go around, it stays in check. :o/

Total weight gain/loss: +27 lbs

Maternity clothes? Yep!

Stretch Marks? Nope! I'm really hoping I avoid them this go around just like with Hannah. *fingers crossed*

Sleep: Uncomfortable! I toss and turn all night.

Best moment this week: Christmas with my dad's side.

Movement: All the time. However they have turned from kicks and punches to rolls and summersaults. I think he's running out of room! :oP

Food cravings: Oh, these Christmas cookies are going to be the death of me! :oP

Food aversions: None.

Gender: Boy!

Labor Signs: None really. I could never tell when I had braxton hicks with Hannah and I can't really tell if I'm having them with Colson either.

Belly Button in or out? Still in. It never popped with Hannah so I don't think it will this time either.

What I miss: Being able to bend over without moaning! :oP

What I am looking forward to: Christmas! It will be our last one as a family of 3. Crazy to think about!

I also have a doctors appointment and NST tomorrow. Yay for hearing the heartbeat!

Milestones: I'm 32 weeks! Less than 50 days to go!

Christmas #1—Mom's Side

This past Saturday was our first of four Christmases. We headed over to my parents house for Christmas with my mom's side of the family.

I didn't take too many photos but here are a few.

Hannah and daddy.
Yet again, we did not manage to take a family pic. I need to make sure we do that on Christmas day!

Hannah found Auntie Holly's camera and decided to become a photographer. She was going around taking photos of anything and everything.  But if you look closely...you can see that her fingers are covering the camera lens. Needless-to-say, not very many of the photos that she took were any good...just fuzzy, blurry fingertips. :oP

L.O.V.E.

A present from Santa! :o)

She loves opening presents. This one was a baby doll! :o)

Next up: Christmas at my grandparent's house with my dad's side of the family, this Sunday.

31 weeks

How far along? 31 weeks

Weight gain/loss: +27 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Yeppers. Although I am buying some non-maternity tops that are longer so I can wear them after Colson comes.

Stretch marks? None yet!

Sleep? What sleep?

Best moment this week? We finally started painting the offices. I got my first coat of color on the walls...I'll post pics eventually. Plus we also got our flooring for the offices.

Food cravings: Christmas cookies! :o)

Gender: Boy! Colson David. :o)

Belly button in or out? In

Movement? All the time. Lovin' the jabs to the rib cage.

What I miss? My body being my own.

What I'm looking forward to: Finishing up the painting and getting the flooring laid in the basement. I'm also washing all of Colson's clothes. I'm really wanting to get his room in order soon!

Milestones: Your uterus can now be felt four inches above your belly button, which means that it's pushing all the internal organs that used to be there somewhere else. That could explain why you're feeling a little spare on air lately, don't you think?

Your baby's on a roll, measuring an impressive 18 inches and weighing in at more than three pounds. You can still expect your developing baby to gain at least three to five pounds, possibly more, before you two meet.

Christmas Tree & Cookie Decorating

*I'm a little behind on posting.*

Here are some photos from when we decorated the Christmas tree.

She put the star on all by herself this year.

Notice the ornaments at the bottom of the tree? Those are the ones that Hannah put up. :o)

And here are some photos from when we decorated Christmas cookies.

I think she enjoyed eating the cookie more than decorating it! :oP

Snoopy Magnets

Hannah has a new love for everything Snoopy. It started when she saw the Halloween Charlie Brown cartoon and has grown to every possible Snoopy cartoon or toy or book that she sees. She will even get super excited when she hears the Peanuts Christmas song on the radio.

So when we went to Michaels the other week, she of course spotted these Snoopy magnets that you paint. I had to get them even though I knew that she would not be able to truly paint them...only slather colors all over them. :oP But it reminded me of a Christmas ornament that I made for my mom when I was little. It was the same clay type figure but it was an ornament of Santa's face. I added so many colors that by the time I was finished with it, his face was pretty much black. My mom still hangs that ornament on the tree every year so I knew that if I got these for Hannah to paint and give to her grandmas, that they would be something that they cheerish. :o)

So, I got the paint ready, rolled up her sleeves and she went to town!

And here are the finished magnets. One for mommy, and one for the two grandmas.

Aren't they just beautiful!? I have mine proudly displayed on our refrigerator. :o)

Weekly NSTs

I have officially started my weekly fetal non-stress tests. I will go to the hospital every Wednesday until Colson makes his grand entrance.

I only had one of these with Hannah so it is kind of weird to have to go to the hospital every week to have one done. I joked with the nurse today, telling her that I am going to put my name on the bed and claim it as my own since I will be in every week! :oP

But I get to listen to Colson's heartbeat for 30-45 minutes...and it is one of the most wonderful sounds ever so I am loving it. Plus, I just get to lay there and relax. Can't beat that! :o)

Everything looked good today, so hopefully little man continues to grow and get enough oxygen.

30 Weeks!

How far along? 30 weeks

Weight gain/loss: +25 pounds. We'll see how much I gained over Thanksgiving tomorrow at my doctor's appointment. :o/

Maternity clothes? Yeppers. Although I am buying some non-maternity tops that are longer so I can wear them after Colson comes.

Stretch marks? None yet!

Sleep? I'm going to cut my legs off...maybe then I will be able to sleep.

Best moment this week? We got our Christmas tree and Hannah had a blast running through the snow.  Colson's crib also arrived in the mail. I can' wait until we are able to start getting his room together. Hopefully soon!

Food cravings: I'm still wanting sushi! I think I might drag my sister out to get sushi this Sunday while she is in town. :o)

Gender: Boy! Colson David. :o)

Belly button in or out? In

Movement? All the time.

What I miss? My body being my own. But I love feeling little man move in my tummy. It is the most awesome feeling so that far outweighs any of the things that I tend to complain about.

What I'm looking forward to: My mom's Christmas for her side is this Saturday. Plus we should be painting the offices...or at least I hope we are. Tick tock. Tick tock. Time is running out to get all of this stuff done.

Milestones: I am 30 weeks today. To me that is just crazy. This pregnancy has really flown by and it blows my mind that Colson will be here in 8-9 weeks.

Colson is getting bigger every day, weighing in at over three pounds now (he’ll be packing on the weight at a rate of half a pound per week for the next seven weeks).
