Tissue Paper Flowers

Tissue Paper Pom-Poms

Step 1

Stack eight 20-by-30-inch sheets of tissue. Make 1 1/2-inch-wide accordion folds, creasing with each fold.

Step 2

Fold an 18-inch piece of floral wire in half, and slip over center of folded tissue; twist. With scissors, trim ends of tissue into rounded or pointy shapes.

Step 3

Separate layers, pulling away from center one at a time.

Step 4

Bend wire into a loop to fit around napkin, and twist end around loop to secure.

LOVE THEM!  :o)

Tissue Paper Flower-Wrapped Favors

Flower-Wrapped Favors

Step 1

Fill a 3 5/8-inch-high acetate cylinder with candy.

Step 2

To make flower, cut a 9-by- 30-inch piece of tissue paper. Fold, accordion style, in 5-inch-wide layers. Cut petals in smaller end; unfold and lay on flat surface.

Step 3

Place cylinder on paper with bottom about 1 inch from uncut end, and roll; tape sides and bottom with double-sided tape. Tie ribbon above top of cylinder.

Step 4

Gently peel petals down to open flower. If you use a shorter cylinder, reduce height of paper; for a multicolored blossom, wrap a second layer of paper around cylinder after first is secure; secure with ribbon.

LOVE this favor idea too for Hannahs party.  What else could I fill the cylinders with though besides candy?  A flower bulb perhaps?  Maybe that's too expensive...  A candle???  :o/  Maybe candy would be the best option.  Hummmm...

Once I get a few made myself, I will be sure to post pics!  :o)

Just a few...

I just wanted to post a few random photos.  This weekend has been kind of full so I haven't had time to write an actual post.

All I know is that I am loving this Fall weather.  Yesterday was about 66 degrees and today is supposed to be the same.  I had to whip out some of Hannah's Fall clothes.  :o)

I think the task today is to re-organize her closet i.e. pack away clothes that no longer fit/clothes she'll no longer need, and sort through her PILE of Fall clothes and  arrange them in the closet.

If I have time, that is.  I also need to clean the house.  UGH!  That is always such a task.  But we're having the parents over for... wait for it... wait for it... Sloppy Joes!  Or as Nick likes to call them "Untidy Josephs".  :oP

Okay, enjoy the photos.  I'm off to clean and organize.

Cute ideas!

I love planning for a party.  I am looking around for decor ideas for Hannah birthday.  Here are just two things that I think I am definitely going to incorporate.

I just love these paper cones!

And I love the idea of paper pom-poms.

10 Months!

Today Hannah is 10 months old!
Let me repeat that... 10 MONTHS OLD!  OMG!

But Hannah is pretty excited!  :oP

What is Hannah up to???

She is pulling herself up onto the couch and walking along the couch. I have become her own jungle-gym.  It won't be long before she is walking on her own.

We went to Stride-Rite today with Grandma and Auntie Mandi to get her her first pair of pre-walkers.

She got these two pair:

She still only has her two bottom teeth but I have a funny feeling her two top teeth are right around the corner.

She loves to say mama, dada, and baba. When we ask Hannah how big she is, she will raise her hands above her head... because Hannah is SO BIG!  :oP  She will clap and dance to la-la-la-la.

She is so freakin' cute I can't even stand it!

I can't believe her birthday is 2 months away.  Like I said before, party planning is underway. I have already designed the invites.  When I get them printed and assembled, I will post a pic!

I'm sure in the next 2 months Hannah will grow up so much.  Even in the past month she has learned to do so many new things. Time needs to slow down.  But I am loving every minute!  I wouldn't change it for anything.  She brings a smile to my face all the time!

Happy 10 month birthday little butterfly.  Mommy and daddy love you so much!

Find Your Wings

by Mark Harris

Kelly over at Kelly's Korner posted this song on her blog the other day.  If you are a parent it will definitely pull at your hearts strings.  It brought a tear to my eye.

It is a fabulous song! I think I am going to use this song for a video photo montage that I want to make to play at Hannah's birthday party.  :o)

It's only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that heaven has for you
Will all too soon unfold
So many different prayers I'll pray
For all that you might do
But most of all I'll want to know
You're walking in the truth
And if I never told you
I want you to know
That as I watch you grow

I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

May passion be the wind
That leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong
Guide you on your way
May there be many moments
That make your life so sweet
Oh, but more than memories

I pray that God will fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

It's not living if you don't reach for the sky
I'll have tears as you take off
But I'll cheer as you fly

I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

Indy Bound

Nick and I are off to Indy for the weekend.  Sara's bridal shower is Saturday and so is Erin's Bachelor party, so we are dropping Hannah off at my parent's house tomorrow morning EARLY and hitting the road.

I am excited to see Sara again, but I am also kind of sad to leave because this will be our first night away from Hannah.  :o(   *tear*  I'm sure she will do great at her grandma and grandpa's but it will still be hard when I go to sleep Saturday night knowing that I didn't kiss my baby girl goodnight. BUT like I said, she is staying with the grandparents... and my sister and brother-in-law are coming in for the weekend so they will be there too.  I'm sure she will have a blast! And Hannah has been sleeping 12 hours a night for the past 2 weeks so hopefully she is as nice to her grandparents and she has been to me!  :oP

I am excited for Sara though, as her BIG day is getting closer and closer.  I am so honored to be in the wedding!  Tomorrow we will all shower her with gifts, as she gets one step closer to tying the knot and being able to call Erin her HUBBY!  YAY!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will end this post with a photo of my baby girl. :o)

"mom, what is this thing you keep pointing at my face?"
