And I think they all look the same... sigh...

Ultrasound Scheduled!

We have scheduled our anatomy ultrasound for Wednesday, September 29th at 9:00 in the morning!  YAY! That is also our 3 year anniversary so Nick is taking the day off of work.

I'm super excited for our ultrasound yet super nervous. I just want our little peanut to be okay and healthy and until we hear from the technician that everything looks perfect, I'm sure I will just be a nervous mess. (Please be healthy, little one!) But finding out the gender is an added bonus (providing baby cooperates) and we're super excited about that. I still believe this baby is a boy...Nick's isn't sure. Grandparents are kind of hoping it's a boy...Nick is the only boy right now so it would be nice to have another one around with all of us girls! :oP

Although we won't be finding out the gender at the ultrasound! Nick and I have decided to do something a little different this time around! :o)

We are having the U/S technician write down the results and put them in a sealed envelope. We're going to take that envelope to a bakery and we're going to have them make a cake with the correct color of either blue or pink on the inside. Then on October 2nd we are going to have a little cookout with our friends and family and we're going to cut into the cake and all find out at the same time! So not only do I have to wait another 3 weeks, but I will have to wait another 3 days after that for the party. AH! How am I going to do that!?

But I have made these cute invites to send out to everyone. I've have had them designed for a while but I had to wait patiently until we scheduled the ultrasound to actually share them...just to make sure of the date.

So hopefully our little one cooperates and we get a clear shot of what he or she is. If not we'll still have fun at our cookout and I guess we'll just eat yellow cake! :oP And I can't wait to see who picks which team. I have a feeling the boy votes will outweigh the girl votes!

Apple Picking 2010

Yesterday was such a beautiful day so we decided to go apple picking. It was the first weekend the orchard was open and it was super crowded, but I'm so glad we went. The honeycrisp apples (aka best apples on earth!) were almost all picked and if we would have waited another weekend there would have been none left.  Luckily though, we came home with 7 pounds of wonderful honeycrisp apples!

Hannah had a blast! At first the tractor driver scared her but after she got over it, all she wanted to do was pick apples. We told her to find the red apples so she would go around telling us to 'let's go. red apples.' and then once she got an apple, she had to put it in her bag. She definitely understood what to do this year and she was so cute walking around finding apples. It makes me even more excited to go pumpkin picking and to get our christmas tree! :o)

Here are some photos that I took. (It was hard to get a decent photo of Hannah actually picking an apple this year. The kid moves so fast! :oP)

On the hunt for the perfect apple

I think daddy may have found a good one!

red apple! :o)

And just because I thought it would be fun to compare... here is a photo from our apple picking adventure last year.
She doesn't even look like the same child! Craziness!

Baby Cocoon

I bought a pattern for a baby cocoon on Etsy. I wanted this for when I take newborn photos of our new addition. Since I made it before we found out the gender, I bought a yarn that was pretty gender neutral. It only took me about an hour to crochet so I can't promise that after we find out the gender, I won't make another one in pink or blue! :oP

I also bought a pattern to make a hat. I am waiting to make it though until we find out the gender. Once I finish it, I will be sure to do a post about it! :o)

Your Three Words

I am really looking forward to Fall! It is by far my favorite season. I have already gotten my Fall decorations out...all like 6 things that I have. But hey, who cares. The smell of my pumpkin spice candles throughout the house is enough 'decoration' for me! :o) (And yes, even my blog got a Fall makeover!)

With September and Fall comes a lot of things that I am looking forward to!

In no specific order:

  • leaves changing color
  • the crunch of the leaves
  • the cool crisp air
  • wearing sweatshirts and jeans
  • going apple picking
  • going pumpkin picking
  • Halloween candy
  • cold weather food (soups and stews)
  • pumpkin spice candles
  • Thanksgiving
  • our wedding anniversary
  • our daughters birthday
  • being able to open the windows
  • fires in our fire pit
I'm sure there are more things, but this is all I can think of.

So, HELLO September! I have waited not so patiently for you to arrive! :o)

Play along over at Jenni's Blog!
